Interior Refurbishment in Wakefield | West Yorkshire

  • Client: Addison Colbeck - Doncaster
  • Sector: Interiors
  • Type: Specified
  • Procurement: Tender Negotiated
  • Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
  • Project Value: £13,000. 00

The Project

We were approached by Addison Colbeck who we met at a Chamber of commerce local Construction event
The project involved the part refurbishment of the school Restaurant. Our role within this area was to demolish the old queuing system and build 3 new Blockwork walls which formed the new queuing system, re decorate the area and re – position the existing pay stations.
Within the main Atrium area we part demolished an existing seating area and installed a new staircase to match the existing at the other end of the Atrium. We also installed a Water supply to the newly installed server in the Atrium area and re decorated totally the new server area
These works were completed in a 2 working week period whilst the school was closed for the Summer holidays in a very congested area but the works were well programmed work schedule.

The Challenge

The land was formally a petrol station which had been demolished sometime previously but left in disrepair. It also abutted the bottom of a railway line embankment which produced difficulties with Health & Safety requirements from Railtrack. The old petrol station steel pipework and drainage remained and would require making safe. Access to site was off a busy dual carriageway with a footpath being used by local school children. Utility services were present in the footpath and the site was adjacent to local shops and housing The client had let the building and certain design elements needed to be incorporated into the build program to suit the end user.

The Solution

Working closely with the School Caretaker and the project Manager from Addison Colbeck to ensure that P&W successfully installed all the required works, ensuring that the works were completed on time and to budget with minimum disruption to the School.
